(insert one of those little speech bubbles here with HERE, MOM! inside)

The second Sunday in May is, as you all know, Mother's Day. For many people, the upcomingness of this day creates undue pressure. How can I show my love for my mother/mother of my child(ren)? What shall I give to my mother/mother of my child(ren)?

The second Sunday in May is always preceded by the first Saturday in May.

Hooyah! And I know you know what that means! ...What? What do you mean you don't know? (Seriously?) Sigh.

Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. *Check with your local shop for their participation and rules.

Locally that local shop is Ssalefish, located in the Silas Creek Crossing Shopping Center (Silas Creek & Hanes Mall, where Toys R Us and Marshalls are), and they ask that you come get your FREE comic book (one per person) this Saturday from 11 AM - 3 PM! They'll have other sales and surprises going on as well.

As one of the comic book store men says in the video, a comic book is "a work of art" (0 m 28 s).

Please note however that just like other forms of works of art, not all comic books are necessarily appropriate for all ages, so if you're taking children to help you pick out art, bear that in mind. Thankfully the gentlemen who work at Ssalefish are incredibly helpful and will explain content ratings and recommend/discourage if you give them your "art parameters". They'll also help you shop the coolest collection of vintage action figures/character toys/works of art, subset sculptural you've ever seen.
