Local Peek Time

Hard Hat Happy Hour
Thursday, May 20th
6-9 PM
The "New" Sawtooth School for Visual Art

It’s been two years since the Sawtooth School for Visual Art temporarily vacated its landmark building on Marshall Street, but that’s about to change. Classes and summer activities will once again liven up the Sawtooth building in June, and the public is invited to take a sneak peek at the beautifully renovated and enhanced facility on Thursday, May 20 from 6-9 p.m.

The Hard Hat Happy Hour will include tours of the classrooms with an opportunity to talk with faculty teaching ceramics, metal work, photography, fibers, glass blowing and bead-making, drawing and painting, woodwork, and jewelry-making about the possibilities this new center offers.

During the evening’s auction, guests can bid on wonderful faculty art and prizes or help equip a classroom by purchasing a chair, a desk, a computer, or even an entire classroom. There will be live entertainment, ensuring a delightful evening of art, music, fun, and community in one of Winston-Salem’s most treasured buildings in the Downtown Center for the Arts.

Admission is $20 per person, which covers hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats as well as wine, water and sodas. For information and to purchase tickets, please call 336.723.7395.
