Local Frozen Goodness: This Sunday
The Big Chill will take place on July 19th from 3-6 pm at Grace Court Park. It will feature activities and games for children, live music and local celebrities, sitting on ice to raise funds for The Shalom Project. Our music will feature: Sabbath Indigo, a community of jazz musicians, featuring Big Ron Hunter--the happiest blues man in America—and the playful reverence of Diana Tuffin; the Ken Rhodes Trio: Jeffrey Dean Foster and others.
The Shalom Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that grew out of the ministries of Green Street United Methodist Church. We sponsor a variety of efforts that serve the basic needs in the community including a food pantry, clothing closet, a Kids’ Cafe, the Green Street Health Clinic and Pharmacy and the Peter’s Creek Community Initiative that is seeking to address economic development on the Parkway.
