When I was maybe eight years old, my father woke me up one spring morning before the sun came up. He told me to dress warmly, that I was going to an island. Then he took me to Theodore Roosevelt Island and told me to sit still and not speak or I'd scare the birds off. I failed utterly at both directives.
The UNC Press presents Lena Galliano, noted local bird expert as she presents a presentation on local, coastal and mountain birds of North Carolina.
