Local outrage

I love this whale I spotted in the window of the gallery at Trade and Sixth. It's a good thing the gallery's closed, though, because the youngest is outraged by a nearby piece featuring "killed butterflies" (see lower lefthand corner). He's incensed by it and wants to "faceoff the killers".

I can understand his position, since I share a similar sense of horror when people take live starfish out of the ocean to dry out for knickknack purposes. Or live* sand dollars. Or occupied shells.

*if it appears to have what looks like hair, put it back. If it's completely smooth, what you're holding is the skeleton (the "test") of an already dead one.
