But they play mean air guitars!

Each year the Winston-Salem Symphony conducts a talent search to identify North Carolina’s most gifted and accomplished young musicians. Maestro Peter Perret, conductor emeritus of the Winston-Salem Symphony, established the competition as a means of helping to develop young talent, and as a way of recognizing and supporting the teachers and families of musically gifted children.

Deadline for entry is December 12th.

We have a piano, an ancient and finicky Wurlitzer, but the children aren't terribly interested in it because it can't be hooked up to an amplifier.
